One Team. One Goal.

The athletic programs at WCS seek to provide our student-athletes a setting with which to glorify God through the development and exercise of their God-given abilities and talents.  As Lions, we believe that while we train and compete with our best effort, the development of Godly character is infinitely more important and valuable.

VARSITY TEAM RETURNS TO 6-MAN FOOTBALL

Weatherford Christian School’s Varsity Football team will be returning to six-man for the 2023 – 2024 season. After much discussion and weighing options, WCS administration feels that these changes shine a positive light for the future of WCS. Going back to our roots of six-man football aligns with our focus of keeping a small-town, family feel. These changes will also put our Lions back on our own football field for Friday night lights! Having our fans come out to support the team on our campus will continue to elevate school spirit.

While enrollment numbers continue to increase, the growth of the school is evident in all areas. WCS administration continuously evaluates what is best for the current student body. With projected football participation for the 23-24 school year, the safety and well-being of our athletes was a concern in light of all the needs and requirements to field an 11 man football team at the varsity level.  For the time being, our junior high will continue to compete in 11 man football. We are excited about the future for Lions football!
