WCS RECEIVES $100,000 GRANT
Weatherford Christian School received a $100,000 grant from the Amon G. Carter Foundation. The donation will be used to unite the two WCS campuses, bringing all students to one location at the Ranger Highway campus.
This gift comes a result of Weatherford Christian School’s ONE Campaign that was launched this past fall. Aside from a $500,000 lead gift, the ONE campaign has raised an additional $275,000.
Once the fundraising goal of $1.1 million has been met, the construction of the second story education space will begin. WCS has plans for the new education space to be a second story above the Greg Welch Gymnasium. It will feature seven new classrooms, storage areas and restrooms.
“Amon Carter has truly blessed WCS,” WCS Head of School Beth Riley said. “This donation is going to allow the goal of joining as one campus to become a reality.”
Amon G. Carter Foundation is a Texas non-profit corporation established in 1945 by Amon G. Carter and Nenetta Burton Carter.
